Celebrate The Rapp - An ACA Paddle Green Event
Share |

Did you know that the National Headquarters of the American Canoe Association is located in Fredericksburg, Virginia?

Did you also know that the Rappahannock River is The longest free-flowing river to the Chesapeake Bay?

That's right! Both these things are true, and there's a lot to celebrate! Celebrate the Rapp is one of four events that will be part of an ACA pilot for the Paddle Green Program, a community development initiative to encourage recreation and promote good on-water stewardship.

On Saturday, June 1, this event will be a day-long festival to celebrate the river where the ACA is located! Festivities to include:

  • On-water instruction, races, canoe, kayak and stand up paddleboard clinics.
  • Cleanups conducted at heavily used sites along the river
  • Local vendors, clubs, and businesses that will inspire you to get outside and play!
  • The 2013 World Tour of the Reel Paddling Film Festival will be screened under the stars! Showcasing some of the best paddling films from around the globe! (*Ticketed event $10)
  • Libations provided by New Belgium Brewery will be sold in the evening to those of age, so come out for a great time!

The emphasis of the day is fun, family-oriented activities that promote outdoor recreation and good stewardship of the environments we love to play in!

Whether you come out to paddle, check out some of our great vendors, help to make our river a better place to paddle by participating in a clean up, we want you to have FUN doing it!

Participate in challenges and cleanups throughout the day to win great prizes from sponsors! OR buy tickets to the Film Festival for a chance to win some great swag in our raffles!

So What Does this Cost?
