The ACA Stream to Sea Initiative is designed to combine recreation and good stewardship. The ACA believes the best way to inspire people to care about our waters is to encourage exploration and to experience waterways first-hand. Accompanying this grassroots initiative is the belief that everyone can make a difference. While community-wide cleanups and large stewardship events are great, good stewardship is a lifestyle.

The Stewardship Department has developed the Paddle Green Bags as part of our Stream to Sea Initiative. Paddle Green Bags are designed specifically for paddlers and waterway recreation users.  The sole purpose of Paddle Green Bags are to mitigate marine debris in streams, lakes, coasts, and ocean environments. Plastics, glasses, metals, rubbers, and fishing gear are the specific types of marine debris destroying America’s waterways. Your support can revitalize America’s waterways, keep water wildlife healthy, and beautify America’s waterways.

Paddle Green Bags come in two sizes, Large and Small. These are designed for the canoeist, kayaker, or Stand-Up Paddler for total elimination of marine debris. The Stewardship Department has extensively researched and found the best fabric that is abrasion resistant, durable, and is made with environmental friendly dyes.  When the Paddle Green Bag is too worn to collect any more trash, simply send it back to the ACA for our Second Life Recycling Program.

Paddle Green Bags are made within 250 miles of the ACA National Office and assembled in Virginia. This drastically cuts down on the ACA’s carbon foot print of manufacturing, transportation, delivery and allows U.S. companies to be good stewards of our waterways.
