The first annual "Tom Blake Board Across the Bay – Race & Festival” will honor thelegendary Washburn‐raised surfing innovator and competitor Tom Blake. The three‐day festival offers spectator friendly Stand‐Up Paddleboard (SUP), PronePaddleboard, Surf Ski, Sea Kayak & Outrigger Canoe races across Lake Superior’s Chequemegon Bay on a 17‐mile or 8.5‐mile course. Paddlers of all abilities will enjoy equipment demos, instructional clinics, 1‐mile course racing and a Saturday evening Hawaiian themed dinner featuring a presentation on Tom Blake and otherexciting surf related films.

Festival proceeds will be used to construct a bronze statue of Tom Blake standing in front of a classic longboard to welcome Washburn area visitors and offer information about historic and modern day watersports enjoyed on Lake Superior.

The TBBAB Race & Festival is a non‐profit organization that relies on volunteer support prior to and during the event. To find out more about volunteer opportunities please call (715) 798‐3784 or E‐mail:
