Location: Illinois State University Outdoor Adventure Center
Description: 7–9 p.m., April 18 and 9 a.m. - 6 p.m., April 21

This course is designed as a one-day program emphasizing entry-level paddling skills for individuals in the public, private, and commercial setting desiring an introduction to the sports of canoeing or kayaking. The April 18 session at the Outdoor Adventure Center will provide information necessary prior to the course, including equipment sizing and selection, proper clothing, and itinerary overview. The April 21 session will take place at Evergreen Lake (alternate date April 28) and will emphasize safety, equipment, and paddle strokes. Participants must choose either the canoeing or kayaking option when registering. Register by April 17.
