Host Tsunami Ranger Steve Scherrer August 2012

Steve Scherrer is an Instructor Trainer Educator in Level 5: Advanced Open Water

Coastal Kayak. He’s an outrageously fun trainer and an amazing paddler; & he is

coming to Texas to assist with a Level 2 – 3 Coastal Kayak Instructor Development

Workshop (IDW) August 10, 11, 12. Join us for the weekend of paddling and learning. An

Instructor Certification Exam (ICE) will be held on Galveston Island September 7 – 9.

When: IDW Friday August 10 through Sunday August 12. 9 AM – 6 PM each day.

ICE September 7 – 9 in Galveston, TX

Where: Lake Grapevine, Grapevine, TX. The lake is just north of the DFW airport. There are campgrounds on the lake and many very reasonably priced hotels nearby.  Note: This is only the location for the IDW; the ICE will be held in Galveston, TX

Who: You should have a minimum of Level 2 kayaking skills, experience on open water lakes, and the motivation to learn to be a safe and effective instructor.

Cost: The Red River Division is covering a portion of Steve’s professional fees and the course expenses so your fee for this 3-day IDW is half off, only $185.
