Nestled just thirty miles off the Caribbean Coast of Honduras, the island of Roatan offers beautiful paddling, diverse local culture, direct flights in from Houston and world class snorkeling. This is a relaxed pace course that operates on island time, dividing your day between coursework and getting out and using those skills in context in 80 degree clear water. Active currents, winds, marine life and active navigation are a natural part of your time here with nothing contrived. Think real world classroom. You'll fly into the island of Roatan, which has an international airport receiving direct flights from Houston via United. We'll venture daily from our comfortable tropical fruit farm base in the village of Punta Blanca. Each two-bedroom island style casita has its own bath with freshwater air temperature showers and a nice screened-in porch to enjoy the breezes and the sounds of the sea. We also have a few ocean-side hard-sided hurts with bathrooms. We have all the comforts of home, great food, amazing water and a superb Instructor Trainer all minus the distractions of ringing telephones, roads, and to-do lists. Your classroom is on the water! Our front yard is a coral reef! Meals are served from a central kitchen/deck area and are al fresco...as they should be. Fees include: ACA course fees, food and lodging package, outfitted sea kayak and local transport. Feb 2-7: $1450/person, Dbl. Occ. from Roatan airport. Feb 7-10: Add-on trip as part of the ICW: $795/person Reservations are held with a deposit of $500 and a completed registration form available below; 50% of the balance of your total trip fee is due 60 days before departure. The final 50% is due 45 days prior to departure. Deposit fully refundable up to 60 days before departure. We are happy to take deposits by credit card over the phone.
