First run in 2002 the Challenge has grown into Virginia’s premier long distance, adventure triathlon. The Challenge is a 40 mile bike, 12.1 mile kayak leg, and half marathon run along the lovely New River in Virginia’s New River Trail State Park. Participants can compete either in teams or solo and all skill and age groups are represented. Family entertainment is provided during the race as well as food and drink vendors. The race is capped at 300 participants, early registration is suggested.
