SUP Sidney Race is a paddle board racing event taking place at the Gainesville, Georgia paddling venue of the 1996 Olympics on Lake Lanier. This is the fourth race in the SUP Splash Race series and draws paddlers from Florida to North Carolina. The Series is a ranked competition, and consists of 8 race categories: surf class, beginner men/women; 12’6 class, beginner men/women, elite men/women; 14’ class, beginner men, elite men. The Elite race will be 6 miles, and the beginner race will be 3 miles. The Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club will be hosting a Paddle-a-thon at the same location through the day, so there will be many great opportunities for racers and spectators alike, including SUP Yoga, SUP Fishing, kids SUP races, board demos, and representation from SUP manufacturers.
