The most unique, family friendly event to take place on the shores of Lake Superior. In it’s 18th year, the Two Harbors Kayak Festival features the nationally renowned Great River Energy 18-Mile Marathon, the Ellen Anderson 10-Mile Race, the Betty’s Pies 5-Mile Race( all adult race 16+) and the Youth Sprint Races.

We offer three separate kayak and SUP races: Great River Energy 18 mile, and Betty’s Pies 5 Mile Race, Ellen Anderson 10 Mile Race and Betty’s Pies 5 Mile Race,  all with various age groups and boat categories.

In addition to the four races there are local exhibitors, kayak demos, stand up paddle boarding demos & classes, beginning level instructional family tours, kids kayaking, live music, food, fun, and more! There is something for everyone at this one of a kind paddling festival.

Come and challenge yourself  we’re certain you’ll have a great race and a memorable weekend on the world’s largest body of fresh water.

While racers primarily come from the Upper Midwest (Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan) and Ontario, Canada we have had  racers come from as far as the Dakotas, Montana, Oregon, Colorado, Utah and even a few southern & eastern states.

Please browse our website, you will likely find something of interest. We feel that this year’s Festival has opportunities for everyone, from those who have never stepped into a kayak to seasoned paddlers.

Hope to see you on the beach in Burlington Bay this August for the 18th annual Two Harbors Kayak Festival!
