The KFC’s Mayor Cup is an annual paddle and rowing race on the Ohio River at Louisville’s Waterfront Park held on the third Saturday of July. The Course: The race will begin at the buoys that are set off of the Great Lawn of Waterfront Park. The course goes upstream to the north of the Shipping Channel and Tow Head Island along the Kentucky Shore. There will be a turning buoy on the upstream side of the channel. Each leg is 1.5 miles - with a roundtrip of 3.0 miles. One Lap - 3 Miles (novice or stand up) Two Laps - 6 Miles – Juniors/ Rec boats Four Laps - 12 Miles – Mayors Cup – all classes – trophy to first boat home male/female Awards and Medals as well as the Mayor’s Cup will be presented at 6:30 pm at the Paddle for Hunger Awards Ceremony.
