The Columbus Sports Council would like to welcome all the teams for the 2013 Beep Baseball World Series. To commemorate the event, the CSC will be kicking off the 2013 World Series Opening Ceremonies with a winner takes all purse of $5,000 Kayak race.

Each Kayak team will be made up of the following crew members:

A totally blind or partially sighted player as the paddler/racer

A sighted volunteer who will act as the navigator/nonpaddler only

Each member of the two person Kayak team, should be a registered member of the NBBA and of an affiliated team participating in the 2013 World Series. The totally blind or partially sighted paddler/racer will be provided a pair of ski goggles which will be blackened out so that all racers are on the same plain and no one individual has any unfair advantage. No previous kayak experience is needed to participate.

The race course will be 3000 meters in length and will take place on the Chattahoochee River, which is adjacent to the Convention Center. The Convention Center is where the NBBA General Assembly and Banquet will be held.

Preliminary races will determine who will race for the $5,000 purse. The winner of the championship race will walk away with $5,000 for their team.
