Experienced kayakers who wish to seek American Canoe Association Instructor Certification may participate in the 4 day workshop to learn teaching progressions for all the strokes and rescues at Levels 1 through 3. Also learn teaching and feedback methods for effectively sharing your knowledge of paddlesports and your passion for kayaking. This instructor certification workshop will be teaching to and assessing at levels 1,2 and 3. It is up to each instructor candidate to determine which level of certification to attempt. We'll all be in the same course. If you are not assessed at the highest level of your choosing you may be assessed at and granted a lower level. You may also be "continued” at the level you are seeking. This course combines the components of an Instructor Development Workshop and an Instructor Certification Exam (IDW/ICE) so candidates are learning coastal kayaking instruction and being assessed for certification/improvement. This course will be taught at San Luis Pass on the Gulf (mid-way between Galveston and Freeport). The course fee is $429. Three nights lodging at San Luis Pass County Park (Large Group Cabin) is included.
