CLINCH RIVER PADDLEFEST “Let the PADDLING being!!” Consisting of two leisure kayak floats & one kayak race!! What the race is all about: The CLINCH RIVER PADDLEFEST is located on the Clinch River in Saint Paul, Virginia. Course is 5 miles in length, set on class I rapids. Race course is spectator friendly from walking trails located on the magnificent Blue Bell Island Trail. Date: May 31st Registration starting at 10AM (Pre-Registration is suggested on CRA’s Website) Kayak Race Beginning at 11AM Race Format Canoe & Kayak Division with Two Age Groups -18 & Under-Kayak -18 & Under-Canoe -19 & Older-Kayak -19 & Older-Canoe Rules You can find the Clinch River Paddlefest Rules Here. Racing Conditions The races are dependent on rain fall. Too high or too low water might be cause for elimination of some divisions or cancellation of the race. SAFETY All racers must wear a US Coast Guard certified PFD (CRA has additional PFDs on hand). Helmets are suggested but are not mandatory. All boats must have appropriate flotation. Race Bibs All participants must wear Race Bib while on the river. Event Info Entrance fee:$10 or $25 with a Clinch River Adventure’s T-Shirt included Shuttle Service will be provided for all registered participants from CRA’s office to Start Line(Banner’s Farm). Awards will be presented during Clinch River Days the night of May 31st-Trophies and Money will be awarded Directions to the Races Physical Location: 16642 Riverside Drive, Saint Paul, VA 24283 or click here. What goes on? The race is a time for local paddlers to come together and test their skills against one another, as well as themselves. But, it is more than that. It is also an opportunity to come together as a paddling community and celebrate our Clinch River, the most eco-bio diverse river in the United States. Clinch River Days also features a 5K, Car Show, Caving, Food, Live Entertainment, Awards Banquet, Environmental Education, and more. All of this presented in a family friendly environment.
