OLER 176-001 Whitewater Kayaking 2 Credit Instructor: Limit 10 Start Date: 6/11 Lab Fee $120.00 End Date: 6/15 Location: Animas and San Juan River This course will introduce students to whitewater kayaking by covering the basic skills and safety techniques. Emphasis will be on river reading techniques, strokes, safety, self-rescue, and rescue of others. This course will prepare students to effectively “run” class I-III whitewater. This is an American Canoe Association whitewater kayak course; a course completion card is available upon successful completion. This course will meet Physical Education activity requirement for AA degree. Class will be in the classroom and field each day from 9:00-6:00
