Are you a canoeist who wants to share your love of the lake or your favorite river? Join us for this comprehensive course. An Essentials of River Canoeing Instructor teaches all the basic paddling skills and how to have fun in a canoe from the very start. An ERC Instructor also teaches about river currents, obstacles, hazards and how to maneuver around them. As an ERC Instructor you are qualified to guide groups on gently moving river trips and can have the backing of ACA liability insurance. We expect you to have basic canoeing skills as a tandem or a solo paddler. You will have the opportunity to refine your skills as you learn to teach strokes, maneuvers and safety. Participants who are not able to demonstrate all of the necessary skills for Level 2 ERC certification may still be eligible for certification as a tandem or solo Level 1 Introduction to Canoe Instructor. The course fee is $209 which can be discounted if you register a group of 3 or more. The location is San Marcos River Retreat in San Marcos, TX. Click here for a link to the location. Please refer to the ACA website for information on the Instructor Criteria for L2 Essentials of River Canoeing . These are the goals and objectives of this workshop. Contact us with any questions you have about the this course. Susan Eda, Pat Isley and Barb Cutter, IT's
