On April 4, 2015, California Canoe & Kayak and Jackson Kayaks will host the 3rd Annual "Opening Day of the South Fork American River Celebration". All proceeds from this event will benefit American Whitewater. American Whitewater's mission is to conserve and restore America's whitewater resources and to enhance opportunities to enjoy them safely. The previous two Opening Day events raised over $8,000 and we hope to surpass that amount this year. World Kayak is generously donating quality whitewater clinics for our whitewater enthusiasts to enjoy. This is a superb opportunity for paddlers to come and learn from some of the best whitewater paddlers in the industry! We are stoked about our line up this year that includes Emily Jackson and Jessica Yurtinus who will host a whitewater playboat clinic. Greg Didriksen and Toby Ebens will host a Class II tune up and long boat clinic. Hilde Schweitzer and Colin Kemp will host a river running with the FUN series clinic and Phil Boyer and Brian Tupper will host a creek boat clinic. Fletcher Burton and Sean Morley will host a whitewater Stand Up Paddleboard clinic and lead an eager group of SUP paddlers down class II river rapids. Clinics will be $89 and all proceed will go to American Whitewater and a portion will be gifted to Bob Center. After spending the day having fun on the American River, paddlers will return to the CCK Outpost for a BBQ celebration. Ninkasi Brewing will provide refreshments and Will Magid will get us dancing the night away with his fresh funky beats. Ben Stookesberry will premier his latest action packed whitewater kayaking film "Destination Torngat". There will also be a raffle with incredible items that every paddler will want to win donated by our awesome sponsors Jackson Kayaks, Kokatat, NRS, Werner, Stohlquist, Sweet,Smith Optics and Astral. Join us as we celebrate our rivers and raise money for American Whitewater and Bob Center. For more information and to Register online visit http://www.calkayak.com/.
