2015 Delaware River Sojourn: Birthplace of America

The 21st Delaware River Sojourn will be held from Saturday, June 20 through Saturday, June 27, 2015. The theme "Birthplace of America" was chosen to celebrate the river and region's rich history. The purpose of the Sojourn is to heighten awareness of, and appreciation for, the ecological, historical, recreational, and economic significance of the Delaware River, which flows through New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware.

The 21st Delaware River Sojourn will be held from Saturday, June 20 through Saturday, June 27, 2015. The theme "Birthplace of America" was chosen to celebrate the river and region's rich history. The purpose of the Sojourn is to heighten awareness of, and appreciation for, the ecological, historical, recreational, and economic significance of the Delaware River, which flows through New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. It gives people of all ages and experience levels a chance to have a truly "hands-on" river adventure that includes a guided kayak (or canoe) paddle, camping, and educational programming. Participants can sign up for the whole event or for the section(s) or day(s) of their choice.

The Delaware Sojourn is an annual reunion of individuals who come together every year to celebrate the river, participate in a fun, outdoors event, and learn a little bit about our environment and how to give back. We look forward to sharing this, the 21st sojourn, with old friends and new alike this year. In short, our 2015 Itinerary is the following:

  • June 20: Balls Eddy (N.Y.; W. Br. Delaware River) to Buckingham Access (Pa.; Del. River)
  • June 21: Lordville Access (N.Y.) to Red Barn/Hankins Access (N.Y.)
  • June 22: Narrowsburg (N.Y.) to Zane Grey Access (Pa.)
  • June 23: Dingmans Ferry (Pa.) to Bushkill Access (Pa.)
  • June 24: Bushkill Access (Pa.) to Worthington State Forest (N.J.)
  • June 25: Scott Park, Easton (Pa.) to Riegelsville (N.J.)
  • June 26: Bordentown (N.J.), up Crosswicks Creek (N.J.) and back to Bordentown (N.J.)
  • June 27: Independence Seaport Museum/Penn’s Landing (Pa.) to Ft. Mifflin (Pa.)
