Several ACA instructors will be hosting a Flatwater kayaking Safety and Rescue Course at the Hinckley Lake Boathouse. The event is open to the public. If you plan on attending please bring your own gear and PFD's will be required. We will cover a variety of safety topics including what is mandatory and what is not. We will go over additional safety gear and techniques for helping other paddlers. Then we will demonstrate various rescue techniques and we will encourage all participants to practice (or at least attempt) the various rescues while instructors are there to assist. Please remember to dress for the water temperature because you most likely will be getting wet.
