*** The Nelson Downriver Race is on for Sat., May 2, 2015 ***

This is a race for all skill levels from novice to national champion.
The race will be held on the Lower Tye River in Nelson Co., VA.

Based upon what we have seen this spring we are expecting great water this year.
But in the event the river is too low then the put-in will be moved to the
take-out, the take-out to Wingina and most of the race will be on the James
rather than the Tye - still a fun run.

Registration is from 9:00 AM - 10:45 AM and the first racers
will be launched at 11:00 AM.

See our website at http://www.nelsoncountyva.org/NelDRace/
and click on 2015 Race Information for all the details.
**

The cost is only $20 per racer and that includes a great picnic alongside the river.
If you would like a race T-shirt then make that $35 total.
Also this year we are selling T-shirts from past races at steeply discounted prices.

Note: all are encouraged to bring a dish or snacks to share with others.

If you don't feel like racing then volunteer to help.
We can use help with cooking, parking, timing, safety boating, photography,

Or , simply enjoy a beautiful run through Class II+ rapids on the Tye River's
cool, clear mountain water.  Just be sure to launch early enough to join
us for the awards ceremony/picnic after the race.  There is a $5 picnic fee for those who
do not race.

Once again this year we are having a GEAR SWAP, so get cash for that junk your spouse told you to get rid of.

Become a race sponsor!  We encourage donations for sponsorships.  All sponsors will be recognized at the awards ceremony.

Get the biggest bang for the buck from your sponsorship by donating prizes such as athletic gear to the race.
All donations may be sent to Nelson Co. Parks and Recreation, 8445 Thomas Nelson Hwy, Lovingston, VA 22949
(434) 263-7130

To save shipping simply bring your donations to the race.

Proceeds from the race go to the Nelson County Parks and Recreation youth programs and to the Roseland Rescue Squad.

See you on the river!
