This course is all about being able to take care of yourself and other people in your group when there is trouble. Learn multiple ways of: 1) getting yourself back in your boat after a capsize, 2) getting capsized paddling partners back into their boats quickly and safely and 3) getting weak or incapacitated paddlers to shore or a safe area. First we’ll work on variations of self-rescues and assisted rescues, as well as scoop rescues. Then we’ll switch to the multiple forms of swimmer rescues (back deck & bow carries) and towing including contact tows, in-line tows and rafted in-line tows. If you want to be a serious and safe paddler, you need to have command of this stuff. This course will be an intense and wet session.
