The New River Gorge SUP Race is for everybody, no matter what your experience level and age (within reason). We proudly offer free instruction and equipment demos—thanks to our wonderful sponsors. If you've been thinking of buying a board, here's your chance to get your feet on the latest tech, get details from professionals and meet representives from local shops. Come out and see what the fastest-growing paddlesport in America is all about on the beautiful New River. And again, no experience necessary. No registration necessary either. Just show up!

Every year we hold two races, an upstream attainment race and a downriver whitewater race, including three rapids up to class IV. Both are mass start, both timed and both separated into men and women. Prizes awarded to overall male and female time winners, possibly more as swag permits. Contact race organizer, Melanie Seiler for information.

Racers must use the same board for both races and are required STAND UP on their boards. Racers must wear a helmet and PFD in both races. No leashes are allowed in either race.
