Our Fun Start Kayak Class is designed to give people the fundamentals of kayaking through a fun and safe environment. Participants will be engaged with learning proper paddling strokes, basic rescues, and the wet exit. While this class has been designed for the beginner, anyone who has never received formal instruction will benefit from this class. This summer we will be offering the Fun Start Kayak Class from our Belle Isle location. Each class will be held from the east end of the Belle Isle beach offering a sheltered, shallow and safe environment for new kayakers.

Prerequisites: None

Upcoming Classes: Sunday, September 20 , 2015 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM Detroit Yacht Club West Canal before you get to Belle Isle Beach Detroit, MI 48207

Fee: $80 per class

Required Equipment: None Recommended

Equipment: Nose clips and a glasses tether

Other Items to Bring: Water clothing, water shoes, a towel and a change of clothing. I

Sign Up: Pre-registration is required for all classes five days in advance Class size is limited to 6 students. At the time of registration we will ask for your approximate height and weight so that we may bring the proper gear for you.
