Paddlers are invited to bring their own kayaks, canoes and S.U.Ps to join the inaugural paddle from Bay Park to Hewlett Point Park, and back to christen the new water trail on Long Island's south shore. Launching form the beach at Bay Park at 10:30 am, paddlers should be setup by 9:30. 

Get Ready for Some Paddle Fun! The South Shore Blueway offers a unique new recreational opportunity that ensures more people, young and old and people of all abilities, can access Nassau County’s south shore waterways while providing safe, legal access for paddlers and other human-powered boaters to the Hempstead Bays and South Oyster Bay. The community is invited to a free, public event to celebrate the new water trail. Get outside with friends, enjoy the beauty of the south shore, and learn a fun and healthy sport in a family-friendly setting – PADDLE THE SOUTH SHORE!
