Vatten Paddlar – Canoe and Kayak Races

The Town of Barnes, Wisconsin, located just 20 miles north of Hayward will again host the Vatten Paddlar – Canoe and Kayak Races this summer on July 9th. The event features two races, a 10 mile race and a 5-mile race, on northwestern Wisconsin’s most beautiful chain of lakes. The race course travels through the lakes and rivers of the Eau Claire Chain and includes 2 portages in the 10 mile segment and 1 portage in the 5 mile segment. Portages are short and assistance is available. (Note that the Eau Claire Chain of Lakes is not located in Eau Claire, Wisconsin)

Both races have 3 divisions, single male kayak, single female kayak and tandem canoe. More than $2000 in prizes will be awarded - first and second place in each division and 4 timed participation awards in each race. All participants receive a 2016 Vatten Paddlar T-Shirt - finishers qualify for time specific participation awards.

Whether you decide to enter the Vatten Paddlar - Canoe and Kayak Races to win or to just enjoy an adventure with dozens of other canoe and kayak enthusiasts, your day on the Eau Claire Chain of Lakes will be amazing. The crystal clear waters of this chain of lakes and the hospitality of our community are a combination that's pretty hard to beat. Join us for this northern Wisconsin adventure on July 9, 2016.
