The annual Gator Festival in Marion County, Mississippi is held at the Columbia Water Park adjacent to the Pearl River. The canoe/kayak race begins at the Water Park and traverses a 5 mile section of the Pearl River to the boat landing at US Highway 98. A shuttle is provided for the return trip to the Water Park after completion of the race. Race registration information is available at http://www.mcdp.info/events/.

Founded in 1880, The American Canoe Association (ACA) is a national nonprofit organization serving the broader paddling public by providing education related to all aspects of paddling; stewardship support to help protect paddling environments; and sanctioning of programs and events to promote paddlesport competition, exploration and recreation.
