Since the first National Paddlesports Conference in 2008; Instructors, Instructor Trainers and Instructor Trainer Educators have gathered for continuing education through educational sessions provided by the SEI Department. The overall goal of this educational sharing is for Instructors, ITs and ITEs to earn the required certification updates in their given discipline.

This sharing of techniques, policy and educational theory affords Instructors, ITs and ITEs the opportunity to gain cutting edge knowledge and ensures consistency in educational practices.

As part of the 2016 National Paddlesports Conference in Sausalito, Instructors and Instructor Trainers will have the opportunity to fulfill the Update requirement as referenced in the SEIC Policy Manual. (See reference below)

Instructor Update

The Instructor Update will require 2 parts to complete. Due to the venue updates in all disciplines will not be possible.

Part 1 of the Instructor Update will be facilitated by Instructor Trainers and focus on on-water discipline specific teaching skills and theory.

Sunday November 13: 9:00-3:00 at the Bay Model

Part two of the instructor Update will be held in the classroom and focus specifically on SEI policy, paperwork requirements, class registration and reporting. This session will also include presentations by ACA staff.
