The Introduction to River Safety Instructor Certification
 
Dedicated to Instructors who will teach on water up to and including Class I on the International Scale of River Difficulty. Instructors are authorized to teach in a river environment and to teach students fundamental river safety and rescue skills including rescue philosophy, identifying hazards, group management, wading and swimming in current, rope throwing skills, plus assisted- and self- rescues in moving water. This IDW/ICE requires a minimum of 16 contact hours, however previously certified river instructors are encouraged to challenge the one-day ICE.
