Insurance Program Manager (Full Time)

If you're enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and you enjoy making a difference in the world, you might be the right person for the American Canoe Association (ACA). We are a national non-profit membership association that promotes canoeing, kayaking and rafting, as well as stewardship of our recreational waterways. We are seeking qualified candidates for the role of Insurance Program Manager.

Successful candidates will have some experience in insurance policy management and risk assessment (nonprofit insurance experience strongly preferred but not required). A college degree in business administration or related fields is required. Bookkeeping experience is a strong plus. The successful candidate will also be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Excel.

Position responsibilities include:
  • Process insurance requests from paddle clubs affiliated with the ACA
  • Liaison with ACA member clubs and affiliates
  • Maintain event sanctioning records
  • Staff support for ACA events
The position is full-time (40 hours per week), and includes a competitive benefits package. Our work environment is casual and friendly, yet focused and demanding. Occasional travel may be required.

This position is currently located in Springfield, Virginia (Fairfax County), but will move to Fredericksburg, Virginia in spring 2008. Position will report to the Director of Membership, with extensive work with other staff members including the ACA's General Counsel.
