The U.S. Coast Guard released its 2015 Recreational Boating Statistics last week, revealing that boating fatalities last year totaled 626 - an increase from 2014 but still the third lowest number of boating fatalities on record.

One hundred and forty-six(146) of those fatalities were in
canoes(68), kayaks(71) and SUPs(7).  This is an increase from the 135 reported in 2014.
