Europe Whitewater & Rescue Symposium

Mission: The mission of the ACA's inaugural Whitewater & Rescue Symposium is to provide training and certification opportunities for whitewater paddlers and swiftwater rescue personnel.

This Symposium is designed for members of paddling clubs, local water rescue squads, raft guides, certified Instructors, and the general paddling public.  

In addition, numerous ACA Whitewater & Rescue Instructor Certification Workshops will be offered prior to and after the Symposium.

  • Opportunity to become certified as an ACA Instructor


Registration & Cancellation Policies for the Symposium & Instructor Certification Workshops:

Registrations will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. If we receive your registration after we have reached capacity, you will be notified that your name has been placed on a waiting list and your payment will not be processed. If the required number of participants do not sign up for the Symposium or Instructor Certification Workshop, it will be cancelled by May 31, 2017 and a full refund made to any currently enrolled individuals. If a registration cancellation is necessary for the symposium or Instructor Certification Workshop; payment, less a $50.00 administrative fee, is refundable if written notice is received prior to August 31, 2017. No refund will be made for cancellations received after August 31, 2017, except when caused by serious personal illness; in this case, the loss will be shared equally.

Founded in 1880, The American Canoe Association (ACA) is a national nonprofit organization serving the broader paddling public by providing education related to all aspects of paddling; stewardship support to help protect paddling environments; and sanctioning of programs and events to promote paddlesport competition, exploration and recreation.
