ACA Rafting Course Outlines

The following course outlines are sample courses that can be taught by instructors at the appropriate level. ACA Instructors are certified to teach the body of knowledge included in the Course Outline and Instructor Criteria of the certification(s) held. 

Moving Water Paddle Raft Course The ACA Moving Water Paddle Raft course is a minimum 20-hour program emphasizing safety, enjoyment, and skill acquisitions for new paddlers of inflatable craft. The course introduces and trains paddlers in the basic elements of river reading, moving water safety considerations, and paddling techniques. The program may be offered in public, private, and/or commercial settings.

Whitewater Paddle Raft Course The ACA White Water Paddle Raft course is a minimum 32-hour program emphasizing safety, enjoyment, and skill acquisitions for new paddlers of inflatable craft. The course introduces and trains paddlers in the basic elements of river reading, White Water safety considerations, and paddling techniques. The program may be offered in public, private, and/or commercial settings.
