The purpose of the Canoe Poling Committee is: to encourage, sanction and sponsor amateur competition in “whitewater open canoe” slalom at local, regional, national, and international levels.

The 2010 Canoe Poling National Championships were held on the Westfield River near the town of Russell, MA.  Competitors from Texas, Connecticut, New York, Maine, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Virginia spent two days poling upstream and downstream in both the wildwater and slalom events.
