Canoe Poling Competition

Slalom CompetitionThe purpose of the Canoe Poling Committee is: to encourage, sanction and sponsor amateur competition in “whitewater open canoe” slalom at local, regional, national, and international levels.

The 2009 Canoe Poling National Championships were held on the Rappahannock River in Fredericksburg, VA just downstream of the former Embrey Dam.  Competitors from Texas, Connecticut, Michigan, New York, Maine, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Virginia spent two days poling upstream and downstream in both the wildwater and slalom events.
