In 1980, the ACA celebrated its 100th anniversary of representing paddlers of all skill levels, in all craft, and in all watery venues. This significant milestone was acknoledged by President Jimmy Carter and was memorialized by the organization in a comprehensive yearbook.

Now well over 100 years old, the ACA is the oldest paddlesport organization in the United States.
