This is a two-day experiential course that focuses on providing current instructors with an enhanced skill set for teaching at the L1 - L4 level. It can also serve as an update for L1 - L3 instructors. Topics and practice sessions will include working with concepts vs techniques; the use of scaffolding; enhancing observation and feedback skills; module planning and Plan B, capitalizing on what the environment offers; group and incident management; issues in working with co-leaders and assistant instructors, practice teaching, and more. The course is co-taught by Tom Noffsinger and Rick Wiebush. The first one we did got rave reviews from eight L2, L3 and L4 instructors! We usually rent a group house near the put-ins. Cost is $250 plus housing (about $50/night). Contact Rick Wiebush at rwiebush@gmail for more information.
