This is an Instructor Trainer Development Workshop (ITDW) for Level 2-3: Surf Ski Instructors and Instructor Trainers.

As aspiring Instructor Trainers, the goal of this Instructor Trainer Development Workshop (ITDW) is to give surf ski instructors who want to teach a solid and safe base from which to begin for their certification workshops.

Curriculum will cover the basics of surf skis, discuss and execute intermediate and advanced surf ski maneuvers, and incorporate both on-land and on-water instruction. We cover both self and assisted rescues and discuss the safety of trip planning, group awareness, and responsibility.

The Instructor Trainer Candidates at the end of the workshop will have a solid base from which to start coaching other participants and instructors safely, effectively, and efficiently in the surf ski environment. The candidate will also be able to give their students great skills from which they can grow their paddling skills for the rest of their paddling careers.

Participants MUST either be a current ACA Instructor Trainer or have started the Instructor Trainer Certification Process by submitting, and having completed, the following documents to the SEI Department:

1. Submit the Instructor Trainer Candidate (ITC) Registration Form to the SEI

2. Receive written confirmation from the SEI Department that you are eligible to
begin the Instructor Trainer process

3. Complete the Instructor Trainer Candidate Online Self Study prior to
conducting your first co-teach of an IDW/ICE or ICW
