Venue: Flathead River, section to be determined. Course meets at Great Northern Resort Course

Description: This course teaches students to recognize and avoid common river hazards as well as being proactive in preventing accidents on the river. Students will learn rescue techniques for paddlers in distress as well as self rescue techniques. Students can expect to learn skills in dealing with swimmers, pins and mechanical advantage. Proper use of throw bags, rescue vests and other rescue gear will also be covered.Skills assessment is included throughout the course. Participants receive assessment of 2 day skills course upon successful completion.
