This three-day workshop and exam is designed for kayakers who are interested in developing their instruction skills. The Level 2 Essentials of Kayak Touring certification is for those teaching students in calm, protected areas near shore with winds to 10 knots and tidal currents to one knot. Both emphasize safety, efficiency, and self-reliance for those traveling by kayak in controlled conditions. At the end of the course, each candidate will be individually evaluated and those candidates who meet American Canoe Association standards will receive Instructor Certification. The currently scheduled IDW/ICE will run May 18–20, 2012 from 8am until 5pm. For more details go to
