Come join Discover Kayak and Houston area instructors for a weekend of advanced kayak training. Saturday will include work on strokes and skills necessary to negotiate moderate surf including: proper launching and landing with control in surf, surf safety, kayak surfing skills for long boats and how to read surf and surf reports. Saturday evening we will cover charts,
reading coastal condition and safety gear. Sunday we will work in open water on towing, rescues and navigating currents and sandbars. Participants should have level 2 skills or higher, proper sea kayak, spray skirt, pfd and helmet.

Cost: $250 including beach house accommodations on Friday and Saturday nights.

Limit: 6 students Date: July 14-15

Instructors: Steve Walls Level 4 Coastal, Barbara Cutter Level 3 Coastal and
several Houston area Level 3 Instructors for a excellent student to instructor
