The 17th Annual Hawaiian Airlines Liberty Challenge is an international race of 6-man outrigger canoes competing in men's, women's and co-ed divisions to race a 15-mile course in the Hudson and East Rivers and New York Harbor past the Statue or Liberty, World Trade Center and the Brooklyn Bridge. The Liberty Festival on Pier 26 will feature Polynesian entertainment, storytelling, lei making, ukelele lessons, paddling demos, stage performances and free fitness classes. Learn about the ancient practice and culture of outrigger canoe paddling.
