Wind is one of the biggest PIAs for paddlers, but it can be controlled and even used to your advantage if you know what strokes to use and when to use them. The same is true for dealing with current. We'll learn four different ways of counteracting weather cocking and several strokes (e.g. bow rudder, low brace turn) that can help you turn either wind or current to your advantage. After reviewing these strategies and strokes in the calmer water of the canal we'll move out onto the Potomac to test them out and practice. Cost $50. Course is at Riley's Lock
