A coordination between Appalachian State University's Recreation Management program and W. Kerr Scott Dam, we (students of ASU) are planning and implementing a river float down the Yadkin River in order to remove trash that would normally end up in the Dam Reservoir. We plan to meet at K.S. Dam at 8:30 on the morning of Saturday, November 1st, register participants and issue life vests and safety equipment, and then drive to the Ferguson, NC Greenway access point to begin our float. the event should be over by 2pm, and we are currently seeking sponsorship for a free lunch. (If your administrators are interested, we will be happy to provide new information as it arises.)
