« Go to Upcoming Event List The Level 4 Open Water Trip Leader Award is a new program being offered by the ACA in 2016, and we are pleased to be working with Ryan Rushton (ACA L5 Instructor Trainer) to offer one of the first L4 Trip Leader programs in this region. During this 4 day combined training and assessment, candidates will be exposed to concepts and techniques for safely managing a group of sea kayakers while exploring dynamic coastal environments, including Tide Races, Rocks and Ledges, and Surf. Successful candidates will develop and demonstrate skills to properly plan trips, choose venues, assess a group's abilities, manage play, and resolve problems that arise in ACA Open Water Coastal Kayaking conditions. All candidates will leave with a comprehensive action plan for continued development of their leadership and personal skills.
