The American River Conservancy (ARC) project objectives are to clean up trash and debris and remove non-native invasive plants from heavily used recreational areas along and in the South Fork of the American River and the Upper Cosumnes River.  The project proponent (ARC) will coordinate five (5) cleanup days between May 2014 and November 2014 and actively recruit volunteers to help accomplish the task of trash cleanup and invasive plant removal.  This project will take place at various locations along the South Fork American and Upper Cosumnes Rivers, but will focus mostly on heavily visited sites with public access.  Cleanup sites include the following locations and river stretches:  (1) Ladies Valley – NF Cosumnes River; (2) E16 Bridge – MF Cosumnes River; (3) Gold Beach – Main Fork Cosumnes River; (4) Chili Bar to Coloma – SF American River; (5) Coloma to Greenwood – SF American River; (6) Lotus to Salmon Falls – SF American River; and (7) Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park. All cleanup sites are located in El Dorado County, California.
