2020 Sprint National Championship Update

Dear Sprint Athletes, Coaches, and Families,

We hope this message finds you all well and making the best of a challenging time in our history. Author C.S. Lewis once said, “Hardship often prepares ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny.”

While nothing seems certain these days, for example the 2020 Olympics & Paralympics being postponed, one constant is the commitment of the ACA and the Sprint National Events Committee to support our athletes.

GOOD NEWS!

The Sprint National Events Committee and our hosts at Lake Harsha in Ohio (the Clermont County Convention & Visitors Bureau) are committed to

holding the USA Sprint National Championships as planned from  July 28-31, 2020.

The health and safety of our athletes and families remains our highest priority; if future chanhes must be made due to the fluidity of the COVID-19 situation, please be aware that the venue is extremely flexible regarding dates and we will explore all options to be able to hold the Sprint National Championships during the summer of 2020.

Here is some additional information that might help you in planning:

  • Accommodations: The Clermont County CVB has arranged with our sponsored hotels to allow for cancellations up to one week prior to the event. We encourage you to reserve your rooms through their website. Please be cautious about booking with Air BnB’s as they do not support our event and may not provide a refund in the event of a cancellation or date change.
  • Air Travel: Currently there are great deals on airfare. Many of the airlines are offering free cancellation or rescheduling of flights. Be sure to check directly with your airline regarding cancellation/change procedures.

REGULAR UPDATES

The Sprint National Events Committee will provide updates on a regular basis; however, we do not anticipate making any further decisions until the end of April. Please check the ACA Sprint website as well as follow the ACA Sprint Members page on Facebook.

The official Nationals invitation will be sent out around May 1st with all the dates and details regarding registration.

KEEP TRAINING

Keep training, be creative, share your workouts, stay connected in your social media groups. We will all be together again soon --  battling for those gold medals and building lasting bonds and friendships.

While we understand that your training this year may not be optimal and you may feel like you're not at your peak level, we are part of an amazing community of paddlers. We can gather to compete and prove to ourselves and those watching that we are committed to being our very best.

Let’s all join together to make 2020 Nationals one of our most memorable events ever!

REACH OUT
