Level 1 Instructor Nominations for Affiliate Membership in IPC

The ACA SEIC's Introduction to Paddling Committee (IPC) is hosting nominations & subsequent elections for an affiliate committee member. Currently certified  Level 1 Instructors/ITs/ITEs in any discipline are encouraged to submit self-nomination materials. Ideally, the elected affiliate members would be active in their paddling community and have interaction with/connection to introductory paddlers. A Level 1 affiliate member of this committee will bring a unique and valuable perspective to committee projects and discussions focused on introductory educational programs.

The IPC is comprised of the chairs of all the current ACA discipline committees; the committee membership is comprised of both voting and affiliate members (non-voting). The IPC oversees and is responsible for introductory paddling courses, instructor criteria, the Paddlesports Safety Facilitator (PSF) Program, and other related programs. As a committee comprised of representatives from all other discipline committees, the group also discusses ACA educational policy and general best practices for paddlesports beyond Level 1.

The IPC meets at least 2 times a year, with additional conference calls and collaborative work as needed and looks forward to welcoming an affiliate member to serve until the end of term, which is December 2021.

Interested individuals should submit self-nomination materials between June 1-14th. Voting will occur from June 15-26th.
