Elite Female Slalom Athlete Grant
Share |

In 2017, the Shannon Christy Memorial Fund made a generous donation to the ACA to support elite female slalom athletes.

Honoring the memory of Shannon Christy, whose passion for kayaking and for life inspired so many, the ACA is proud to be able to support this initiative.

Special thanks to Anna Levesque and Laura Farrell for their continued leadership.

Grant Overview:

Each year, as funding permits, the ACA will grant funding to an elite female slalom athlete.  These funds should be used to further the individuals' ability to train and compete in whitewater slalom at the international level.

A condition of acceptance is that the recipient will commit to giving back to their paddling community.  For example, the recipient could teach a beginner slalom clinic to aspiring youth, talk about whitewater safety at an event, organize a local river clean up, etc.
