Consider taking a course from a certified ACA InstructorOne of the many benefits of being affiliated with the ACA is our ability to provide liability insurance for on-water events.

Obtaining insurance for on-water activities can be difficult and expensive. That's why the ACA provides this valuable service to the paddling community. The ACA's program provides excellent coverage from highly-rated insurance companies. It can be used for paddling in most classes of water, and is available at affordable rates that are competitive with, if not better, than any other event sanctioning organization.  Submitting an application is easy, and the ACA staff is ready to assist you in filling your insurance needs.

The ACA offers several types of insurance to the paddling community:

Liability Insurance

The ACA's Liability Insurance Program protects paddling clubs, affiliate organizations, ACA members and ACA-certified instructors against liability claims brought by paddlers (or their family members) who have been injured and are seeking compensation for their injuries. This insurance will pay the costs of defending against an allegation of liability, including lawyer fees, and will also pay damages, up to the policy limit.  Your event/course must be properly pre-registered in order to qualify for the ACA's Liability Insurance Program.

This insurance program is designed for:

Outfitter, Livery & Guide Insurance

By meeting certain criteria, small or large outfitter, livery or guide businesses will be eligible for discounted pricing on various insurance policies such as general liability and commercial auto.. In addition, proceeds from utilizing this endorsed insurance program will benefit paddlers as they are used to support the ACA's mission of improving education, stewardship, recreation and competition for all.

Hull / Personal Property Insurance

If your paddling club owns expensive equipment, consider the ACA's Hull Insurance Program. This program provides property insurance that will help you replace your boats or equipment if they are damaged, misplaced or stolen (subject to a deductible). The program is very affordable, with premiums set at 3% of the value of the property insured.

Kayak Fishing Tournaments

Clubs, tournaments, or organizations that focus on fishing from kayaks are eligible to participate in the ACA Insurance program either as a Paddle America Club or as an Affiliate Organization.

Online Waivers

As a service to our members, Paddle America Clubs and event organizers, the ACA now has an online waiver system.

USA Canoe/Kayak Insurance Program for 2017

USACK will once again not be able to offer club or event insurance in 2017.  In order to have insurance coverage for your club or race, you can either join the ACA as a Paddle America Club and access the ACA's insurance, or you will need to find another insurance provider.
