IWHoFInternational Whitewater Hall of Fame

The International Whitewater Hall of Fame (IWHoF) recognizes and honors individuals who have made significant contributions to whitewater related activities. To date, 39 honorees have been inducted into the Hall of Fame since the first class was inducted in 2005. 


The IWHoF is a program of the ACA and its International Paddlesports Partners.

SUPIA is the trade organization of all stand up paddle businesses: Manufacturers, Retailers, Service Providers (Instructors, Guides, Race Directors, Event Planners, Certifiers), Media, Sales Reps, Distributors, Suppliers, etc. The SUPIA strives to move standup paddling forward in a positive direction.



LNTLeave No Trace

The LNT Center for Outdoor Ethics teaches people of all ages how to enjoy the outdoors responsibly, and is the most widely accepted outdoor ethics program used on public lands. Through relevant and targeted education, research and outreach, the Center ensures the long-term health of our natural world. The Outdoors Alliance for Kids (OAK) is a national strategic partnership of organizations from diverse sectors with the common interest in expanding the number and quality of opportunities for children, youth and families to connect with the outdoors.



BSA Aquatics Taskforce

BSA Aquatics TaskforceACA staff and volunteers have served on this taskforce to help re-write the Canoeing and Whitewater Merit Badges and develop the Kayaking Merit Badge and Stand Up Paddleboarding Award.



NOAA Marine Debris Program 

Help reduce marine debrisNOAA has partnered with the ACA and paddlers to begin to curb the amount of trash flowing from our nations rivers and streams into our bays and oceans.



U.S. Coast Guard - Office of Boating SafetyU.S. Coast Guard Office of Boating Safety 

The Office of Boating Safety is part of the Federal government and a servant of the public, in its role as the designated National Recreational Boating Safety Coordinator, it is a leader in improving the boating experience of the maritime public. Their primary mission is to minimize the loss of life, personal injury, property damage, and environmental impact associated with the use of recreational boats, through preventive means, in order to maximize safe use and enjoyment of U.S. waterways by the public. The USCG Office of Boating Safety supports the ACA in it's endeavors to educate all paddlers about recreational boating safety.

The Auxiliary and the ACA are working together to increase educational outreach to paddlers abour boating safetyas well as provide free vessel safety checks for paddlecraft. News Release.

The USGS has partnered with the ACA to place Boating Safety Tips on it's National Water Information System (aka Stream Gauge pages).




NSBCNational Safe Boating Council

The NSBC was organized in 1958. The role of the NSBC is to promote safe and enjoyable boating through education, training and shared resources. The NSBC and the ACA work together yearly on a wide range of projects to imporve the recreational boating experience for all.



NASBLANational Association of State Boating Law Administrators

NASBLA is a national nonprofit organization that works to develop public policy for recreational boating safety and represents the recreational boating authorities of all 50 states and the U.S. territories.  They offer a variety of resources, including training, model acts, education standards and publications.  NASBLA's mission is to strengthen the ability of the state and territorial boating authorities to reduce death, injury and property damage associated with recreational boating and ensure a safe, secure and enjoyable boating environment.




WSBAAWestern States Boating Administrators Association

The purpose of WSBAA is to identify and share best practices in boating education, law enforcement, search and rescue, and waterway management; promote greater uniformity in boating laws; encourage cooperation between boating agencies and organizations; and serve as a forum for discussing existing and proposed laws and other boating safety issues of mutual concern in the west.



ASAAmerican Sailing Association

The ACA and ASA are working to bring kayak and stand up paddleboard instructor certification courses to a series of ASA professional sailing schools. 



Polynesian Voyaging SocietyPolynesian Voyaging Society

The mission of Hōkūle‘a's Worldwide Voyage is to navigate toward a healthy and sustainable future for ourselves, our home – the Hawaiian Islands – and our Island Earth through voyaging and new ways of learning. Our core message is to mālama (care for) Island Earth – our natural environment, children and all humankind.  As part of the's ACA's heritage and stewardship program, the ACA will be assisting in the coordination of the U.S. east coast leg of this trip.

The VOC has been a consistent partner with the ACA for years. From helping to bring the ACA National Office to the city of Fredericksburg, to sponsoring and providing logistial support for a series of Virginia Canoe & Kayak Collegiate Championship races, Bill & Denise Micks along with John Garman continually volunteer to help promote the ACA and paddlesports.

Florida Paddling Trails Association

The Florida Paddling Trails Association is the steward of all of Florida's water trails. Their mission is to develop water trails, protect the environment along the trails, and be a resource and voice for paddlers. The Florida Paddling Trails Association has over 40 designated paddling trails on various rivers and streams and the impressive 1,515-mile Florida Circumnavigational Saltwater Paddling Trail (CT). The Florida Paddling Trails Association has helped the Stewardship Department of the ACA widen our water trails database and provide information about Florida's waterways to all paddlers. is one of the most comprehensive online directories of resources and information for active duty military, Veterans and their family members.
