Nominations & Voting for Athlete Representatives to SEIC and their Discipline Committees

As the National Governing Body (NGB) for the Olympic sports of Sprint and Slalom and the Paralympic sport of Paracanoe, the ACA is required to abide by the provisions of the Ted Stevens Olympic and Amateur Sports Act, specifically in regards to having at least 20% athlete representation on all ACA Councils and Committees.  At the ACA’s Safety Education & Instruction Council (SEIC) meeting on March 1st 2019, the SEIC’s Operating Procedures were amended to reflect the inclusion of athlete representation on all SEIC committees.

Nominations are being accepted from March 12-22, 2019. Formal voting will occur from March 27 - April 5. Winners will be announced on April 9th.

All SEIC Athlete representative positions are elected for a two-year term beginning in April 2019. The election of the nominees will be determined by the majority of votes cast by electronic ballots returned to the ACA by members eligible to vote.

If you have additional questions, please contact the ACA's SEI Department.
